This month’s update for Abbey and Ryemead is given by PC Andrew Gilbert:
This has proved a relatively tricky month in that the weather has severely hampered and dictated the work we have done.
Anti-Social Behaviour
The anti-social behaviour around the Poets Corner area seems to have stopped since we set up a proactive operation last month. This month we have concentrated on the areas around Wendover Street, West End Road and West End Street. Unfortunately our operations have coincided with the bad weather which has meant that there has been very little anti-social behaviour. We will continue with this operation in the New Year.
Speeding
There are no new issues this month.
Parking
There are no new parking issues this month. During December we spent a lot of time monitoring the school parking situation outside Beechview School. During times when parents pick up children there is a lot of vehicle movement and congestion but the parking was not illegal nor causing any obstructions.
In the last month there has been an increase in theft from motor vehicles. Very valuable catalytic converters are being stolen which are often only attached to cars by the loosest of methods.

It also includes information on what we and our partner services are doing to bring offenders to justice or combat anti-social behaviour, and information on opportunities for local residents to raise concerns with their local policing teams.
